HOUSTON – Truth is often stranger than fiction. On Thursday, June 18, there was a deadly accident that took place on Wallisville Road and Normandy in east Harris County.
The victims of the crash were Nancy Acosta and 43-year-old Victor Corrales, both of Houston. Corrales was on his way home from work when Acosta hit his blue Honda CR-V head-on.
What makes this story so bizarre are the events leading up to the accident.
Acosta, at the time of the accident, was attempting to run her estranged husband and his mistress off the road. Officials report that Acosta began ramming her husband’s vehicle from behind when she lost control and veered into oncoming traffic.
Acosta, a mother of three, was pronounced dead at the scene. Corrales suffered serious injures and is in critical condition, but is expected to survive. His wife, Nallely Corrales, has been by her husband’s side the entire time.
