SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist who was seriously injured on Thursday, September 17 during a crash on the West Side remained in critical condition at University Hospital Friday morning.
Aaron Lee Beaugard, 22, was flown to the hospital after both of his legs were severed around 2:15 p.m., according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Beaugard had been headed north on West Loop 1604 at Wiseman Boulevard when he collided with a Ford pickup that was making a turnaround onto the highway, police said.
Preliminary details released by the SAPD are that the driver of the truck immediately moved into the right lane of traffic after exiting the turnaround to turn onto Northwest Vista College.
Beaugard flew off his bike after the impact and hit the Sea World 151 sign, severing both his legs, Patrolman Ricardo Perez said at the scene.
