BRYAN – On Thursday morning (June 4), there was a three-vehicle accident that resulted in a fatality and some minor injuries for those involved.
According to Texas Department of Public Saftey officials, Paul Sterling, a 59-year-old Bryan resident, was driving westbound on Texas 21 just before 10am near the intersection of FM 2818 when his vehicle crossed the median and crashed into a tractor-trailer heading east, driven by 41-year-old Randy Ramirez.
A third vehicle, driven by 33-year-old Sofia Chavez-Villeda, in an effort to avoid the accident, drove her vehicle into a nearby ditch.
Sterling was pronounced dead on the scene 11:30am; Ramirez was uninjured in the accident and Chavez-Villeda was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with minor injuries.
