DALLAS – A fiery crash left the Moreno family – including a pregnant mother – on Monday, October 6.
The horrific incident occurred around 6:30am on the flyover ramp from I-20 to I-35. A semi-truck hauling lumber collided with the SUV, causing it to burst into flames immediately. The occupants of the vehicle – Jessica Moreno, a mother of four pregnant with her fifth child, her husband Fidencio, and two children, Marcello and Kevin – were killed on impact.
The unnamed 58-year-old truck driver was not injured in the crash. Officials are investigating the cause of the collision, but it’s speculated that the SUV had stalled on the overpass and was struck by the semi.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner is currently attempting to identify the victims. The flyover reopened around 4pm after being deemed safe by TxDOT.
