A hit-and-run accident in northeast Houston sent eight people – five of them children – to the hospital on Friday, June 26.
After running a stop sign at the intersection of Dan Street and Lyons Drive, a car hit a black Nissan Xterra with eight people inside. The force from the collision caused the Xterra to roll over and hit another vehicle. The at-fault car then fled the scene.
Inside the Xterra were five young children, between the ages of 1-4. The children were transported to a hospital with only minor injuries. The three adults were in stable condition.
The at-fault driver fled the scene and the driver of the Xterra will be receiving a citation on behalf of the children not being in car seats.
