DALLAS – A speeding truck led to a devastating fatal crash that left four women dead on Saturday, September 5.
According to police, Jose Lule, 19, was speeding in his Chevy Silverado when he crashed into the women’s Mazda as they were making a turn from Park Lane to Webb Chapel Road. Lule hit the passenger side of the sedan, forcing it into a pole and practically splitting it in half.
The women, all family, were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims of the crash were 65-year-old Maria Rodriguez de Vizcarra, her two daughters Raquel Vizcarra, 32, and Mirna Vizcarra, 42, and her sister Maria Morales, 55.
Lule and the three passengers in his truck were unscathed following the crash. The four fled from the scene, without attempting to help, but they were all apprehended thanks to witnesses description to police. Lule actually called police to report that his vehicle had been carjacked in an attempt to avoid responsiblity.
Beer bottles were found in and around the vehicle, but police have not determined if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
Lule is being held in Dallas County jail on four counts of accident involving injury and his bond is posted for $40,000.
