Rear-End Collision Sends Man to Hospital in Bryan

BRYAN – A speeding 18-wheeler sent one man to the hospital after a rear-end crash on Wednesday, September 9.

Police report that the driver of the big rig was heading north on Texas Avenue when he moved to the left lane in an attempt to bypass a slower vehicle. However, the 18-wheeler was unable to stop in time to yield to a Chevy pickup that was waiting to make a left turn. The big rig rear-ended the Chevy, causing the pickup to roll over.

The driver of the Chevy, a 30-year-old male, was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The 18-wheeler driver was ticketed for failure to control speed.
