CORSICANA – Three people, two adults and one child, have been killed in a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate-45, in Freestone County.
According to investigators, the accident happened around 11am. That’s when the driver of a Chevy Silverado pickup was traveling northbound on the southbound side of the highway. The pickup hit a Nissan Pathfinder with a husband, wife and six children inside.
The initial wrong-way crash caused a chain reaction, with a Hyundai sedan hitting the Nissan and a 3rd vehicle hitting the Hyundai.
The adult male in the Nissan and the driver of the Chevy pickup were both pronounced dead at the scene. A child from the Nissan was later pronounced dead at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. The woman and five other children inside the Nissan were transported to Dallas-area hospitals, by air and ground ambulance. Their conditions aren’t known.
