NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – Three people were killed in an early morning wreck when a ran a red light on Sunday, December 6.
North Richland Hills police said in a statement the vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate 820, northeast of Fort Worth, when it exited around early Sunday. Officers responded to the crash at I-820 at Iron Horse Boulevard around 2:30am.
It remains unclear as to why the driver failed to stop before the pickup struck a guardrail, a concrete wall, and then careened over a second concrete barrier before coming to rest.
One person was ejected before the vehicle was engulfed by flames. The two other bodies were found inside after the fire was extinguished.
The names of the deceased have not been released by authorities.
